Absence

The last couple of months I have not been active on the blog -which I am really sorry for-, but uni life is swallowing my life and I don´t have much free time to actually enjoy my hobbies or when I do I just don´t feel motivated enough to write a post.

So now that I´m at home and will meet with some of my friends to take some photos for the blog, I hopefully post something that makes it up for at least half of the time I have been MIA haha.

Anyway, I still use Polyvore in my everyday life, so if you are not sure what outfit you can dress any day of the week, go to my polyvore account and hopefully you will find some inspiration!

MOVING OUT GUIDE

Hi guys! So two weeks ago I started a new chapter in my life- I moved to Barcelona (yikes!) and started my first year in university. As I´m pretty far from home, I had to pick some basic stuff for all the seasons and it had to be wearable for my everyday life. So, taking that as the main aim to pack, I did a list of the basic stuff you need whenever you move out of your house.

JEANS are the go-to in my everyday life. Whether they are leather pants, basic jeans, or neutral color - I like to go for black, white and grey jeans-. You have to choose the pairs that are the most comfortable and easy to combine with the part of your wardrobe that is going with you. Some derivations that are trendy nowadays are mom, boyfriend and ripped jeans.

When it comes to TEES, I usually go for black,/navy/white/grey basic ones, even though stripes and checked shirts are an interesting choice too. Moving out to a new place doesn´t mean you don´t get to continue shopping, so I opte for the clothing that can be combined easily and is minimalist- this way I get to buy the "trendier" stuff once I settle down in the city.

Don´t forget to choose the adequate OUTERWEAR! Keep in mind you have to pack the clothes that will be mostly useful for the four seasons. This means, pack only the necessary: I always go for a leather, denim and bomber jacket, as they are useful both in warm and cool weather. But it´s true that parkas and long cozy coats help you through a really cold winter, so packing one or two of those is never a bad idea.

When it comes to SWEATERS, I like to pick some minimalist ones, without much print on them. I get to wear them with more outfits and combining gets easier in my case. Also, I usually get to pick sweaters that are not too light nor too cozy- this way you can wear them both in good and bad weather. Nevertheless, pick a cozy one and a light one (one of each is fine), as sometimes it can get too hot or too cold outside. But yeah, I usually go to something in the middle of those two extremes.

When it comes to SHIRTS, I don´t waste much time thinking what I´m going to pick- I always take at least one white blouse with me, along with a formal striped shirt and a flannel (which is seen as more informal). A denim shirt won´t hurt either!

BODYSUITS have come back from the dead after years without appearing in the shops. This year the lacy look and the V neckline have been quite strong, making the outfit cocky and chic at the same time. These bodysuits are really feminine and I really love them, they are perfect for going for a walk or partying.

Along with that, PLAYSUITS and DRESSES are a must in a wardrobe. Nowadays you can find slip dresses anywhere, which are versatile and have made a comeback from the 90´s. Ribbed dresses and cute playsuits are always  a great choice for school too, as they don´t give you the "trying too hard" look.

When it comes to shorts and skirts, denim and suede are a must. They are in and both materials are wearable in winter and summer. Also, really easy to find in any shop!

SNEAKERS, BOOTS and SANDALS are an important part of a whole-year-packing. White sneakers have been going around for a while -see adidas, nike, and brands like Isabel Marant and YSL-, and the fact that they are very versatile makes them become a crucial part of your moving out wardrobe. Furthermore, same goes with ankle booties and over-the-knee boots- they are in any shop and easy to wear with summerish outfits or during winter. Sandals, on the other hand, are mostly for summer -yep, quite logical actually-, but as Barcelona is a warm place to live in- compared to my town, at least, you never go bad with a pair of sandals to let your feet breathe!

It´s also quite funny how many types of HATS are trendy this season: fedoras, caps, and as we are in fall already, don´t forget the beanies! A great way of not letting the rays of sunshine heat up your head, nor the cold winter from freezing it.

Apart from this, do not forget to bring more than one handbag! It´s always a good idea to bring a small and a big one, for different purposes. No one wants to go clubbing with an Oversized Alexa Mulberry bag, right?!

When it comes to accessories, I always tend to bring at least two pair of sunglasses, two necklaces, my watch, and some rings and earrings, to complement my outfit. It may sound stupid but never underestimate how a necklace or a pair of sunglasses can level up your outfit!

And that´s all for today folks! Hope you found this moving out guide a bit helpful!

Street style inspo: KNEDALL JENNER

Today´s bloggers are mostly inspired by the street style that mostly models and celebrities provide us. They give us ideas of how to style new runway pieces in a simple and effortless way. One of the models that has caught my eye- for a reeeally long time now, actually- is Kendall Jenner.
The oh-so-well-known celebrity got the chance to start a modelling career, which has led her to experiment with the new stuff of the contemporary designers, creating minimalist and cool outfits.

She usually goes for neutral, blue and warm colors, mixing them with each other with the achievement of a trendy palette. These colors are worn quite a lot nowadays, and they are aesthetically pleasing.

The fact that she usually wears more than one piece of clothing of the same color -in this pic both the jacket and the shoes are a similar blue- makes her avoid the "trying-too-hard" look, which is always a plus.

Most of her outfits are usually combined with a pair of sunglasses and a mini bag, which are her go-to accessories when it comes to going out.

When it comes to hair and makeup, she usually goes for a natural bronzed look (never too much, no one likes looking like a dorito) with simple hairstyles, such as the half up half down, a messy bun, or just keeping it down. Her simplicity is one of the most attractive features of her style.

Stripes and sandals

These past two months have been pretty hot, so hot that I have spent most of the days in my PJ´s and sitting next to a fan, so I haven´t had many outfits that didn´t consist of sporty shorts and tank tops. But, luckily (and finally!), I have started using my camera and had my little brother as a photographer. So, choosing of the coolest days we have had in a looong while, I chose a cute outfit and took some pictures to show you.

I usually wear something dark even if there is 40 degrees outside, and that´s why I usually go for a black bag (Zara has got great mini bags, such as this one, this one and this one), which goes with 99% of my everyday outfits.

Also, one of the latest eyewear trend have been the aviator glasses, and I got mine from Amazon. They are very casual and wearable in the everyday life.

The tan colours have been a weakness of mine for quite a while now, so pairing these heels with a navy and white striped shirt and dark jeans has been an experiment of my favourite colours.
Sadly my heels are out of stock, but Charlotte Russe has this similar pair if anyone is interested!

Shirt: Zara
Jeans: Stradivarius
Bag: Zara
Heels: Rampage
Glasses: Amazon

I hope everyone has a great week ahead! xx

Summer Blues

Good day everyone! I know I have been MIA the past months- I have had my final exams (I passed them all with good grades and I´m attending a really cool uni next year yaaaay!) and I have been abroad the whole month of July (Florida). But now I´m back really motivated to continue uploading posts about fashion and whatnot so!

This year I have seen lots of pastel blues around the shops, and this summer has been a really good year for some rad outfits playing with pastels and warm colours mostly. They really remind me of the warm temperatures of summer, and these light tones really suit basically anyone with a good tan! (May I say this year has been the first I have been tan after four years of looking like a zombie even in summer).

JEAN STYLING // SPRING 2016

Firrrrst of all: HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!! I hope all of you have had a piece of those chocolate eggs that I never get to buy but are so popular everywhere!

Saying that Easter has arrived makes me think two things: 1) YES!! CHOCOLATE FOR EVERYONE! and 2) YES!! SPRING AND MORE SUN FOR ME!! This last one may have more importance than the first -mainly because I eat a piece of chocolate everyday, so there is not much difference on my diet lol-, and that´s because I am soooo ready for the sun-kissed skintone. Also, warmer temperatures are coming along with new refreshing outfits, so yeah, that brings more happiness into my fashion world (if that makes any sense?).

This post is all about different types of in-jeans and ways to style said clothing, as it may be difficult to style these pants with new clothing pieces from the stores. As being a stylist is my main dream, this is something I love to do- and thanks to Polyvore, I do it a lot.

What a better way to welcome Spring than going out with killer outfits?

INTERIORS

Hi from the girl who has spent her past four days at home with the good company of the flu! Staying at home- specifically in bed all day- has drawn me to the idea of doing an interiors´ post, as I do find it as interesting and fun as clothes or makeup.

This being said, Tumblr and Pinterest have some really cool pictures of both luxurious, big houses that only Kylie Jenner can buy at the age of 18 and these really small, cozy flats that may be seen as rough or unattractive for some of you, but people like me absolutely love. I mean, who would want to clean a whole mansion when you can spend four hour as most cleaning your little studio? (Yep, I´m the laziest bum you have ever met).

As I always say, I´m more interested in the simple, white, grey and black things, instead of these too much furnitured and colourful flats some people are into. As someone who will be going to uni next year and is getting more mature in the personal independence topic, I love to look at inpiration for my oh-so-dreamed flat.

When it comes to talk about my ideal living place, I´m always thinking of some white or greyish walls, with not so much furniture- but the one that´s in there, has to also have neutral colours. Being able to express what you need or feel when you get home (calm, peace, some positive vibes) through colours is someting I want to achieve with my future living place. I want to arrive home, open my door, and be welcomed by these calming walls, lots of space to surround myself with and not so many furniture pieces that will make me feel stressed (yes, this sometimes happens to me).

I think some of my favourite pictures from Pinterest and Tumblr will make you visualise what I mean, haha.

JANUARY FAVOURITES // 2016

Hi there! My schedule has been really busy the whole month of January, which has made me disappear from the surface of the Earth- the fact of having lots of exams has made me stay at home for two weekends straight with no social communication with anyone.

Buuuuut every day I have done some Polyvore sets with my favourite pieces of the month, which have been the leather jacket with fur collar, Puma sneakers (sadly sold out), the baby blue bags, the Yeezy sneakers and tan coloured mini skirts, alongside some other complements: aviator glasses, chockers, Fendi´s Karlito keyring and the amazing Sephora mascara I have been using for the past seven months.

I have made a few sets to show you how I would style them (even though -sadly- I don´t own most of these things haha) and this way you get new ideas too!

Last but not least, hopefully this week I will try to get some photos taken with my new camera, and hopefully I won´t break it in the process. Much love! Kat xx
